Hello all! I hope your projects are progressing as planned or better.
I spent most of the latter half of the week working on my novella contest entry but upon rereading the contest webpage I realized that the story I was working on was not in the spirit of what they were looking for. SOOoooo, I decided to start over. Luckily, on Saturday, after spending a day racking my brain for a new idea one just came to me while eating breakfast. I’ve been working on the new plot and outline since then. I’ve still have time and have high hopes it’ll be done in time.
I also managed another post related to my search for another idea, Wrestling with Mental Whiteout: Fumbling around for that next story idea.

I am really glad you didn’t let the fact that what you had been working on wasn’t quite right get you down and that a new idea presented itself. I hope your writing goes well and you get it done in time!

You know, I don’t know why starting over didn’t hit me harder. I guess if that other story idea didn’t come to me the frustration might have shot up but luckily it’s worked out so far. one step at a time, right?
Thank you for the support 🙂

Always, racking your mind for an idea and then you get one over breakfast. I got my next story idea walking to the shop to return DVD’s.
Good luck with getting the novella finished in time.

I know, it’s nuts! I guess it just shows it pays to keep your mind open, letting the outside stimuli and thoughts flow through, ’cause you never know when one will stick.
